Gantry Cranes are commonly found in outdoor application primarily due to the absence of a building and runway structure. However, it is found indoor on some occasions too. It’s offer an economical solution as the equipment is limited to rail mounted directly to the floor where the floor loading permit or onto a foundation for higher loading.

The Gantry Cranes consists of a steel frames that has both horizontal beam and and a supporting upright columns/leg. The column/leg is able to run on floor mounted rails. A variety of types are available such as Standard Gantry Crane, Semi Portal Gantry Crane, Cantilevered & A-Frame Gantry Cranes.

Semi Portal Gantry Crane is a practical solution where it is not require to cover the entire width of workshop. One side of the Crane run on the elevated runway while the runway for the other side on the ground level.

A-Frame Gantry Crane or generally known as portable gantry crane is good for most small work area/station eg. Maintenance Workshop. It is able to shift from one workshop to another.
